FREE PATTERNS

 FREE PATTERNS

So, I've created a new page (on the right side of this blog) and it's called FREE PATTERNS. These will be in various sizes, some line art that you colorize, some already colored and of course you can alter them as you wish!

From Seamless Studio

Using your Photoshop or PhotoPea or whatever online app that can handle PNG files, you can adjust, change, enhance, add to and take away anything you like on these patterns.

Actually not sure what free art programs are out there now, since I don't use them. I believe there is still Canva, not real sure if it's still around, or free, or easy to use!

Created using Seamless Studio

What is your favorite program to use to create patterns?

Long ago, before I figured out how to make my own patterns using Photoshop and Illustrator, before Artrage, before Krita and other art programs that allowed you to create patterns, there was a couple of programs that I found and one was called Seamless Studio. It was AWESOME!

They had tons of images already installed in the free app, or you could load up your own. Each image was on it's own layer, you could adjust, resize, recolor, move around and everything so easily! The only problem was the size of image you could upload to the tools, it was so tiny! I don't think the finished results were at 300ppi either.

So, I remember making a file and then using InkScape to trace or Illustrator. Back when Illustrator was not in a cloud! But the files were always hard to get loaded into the program for some reason. I made quite a few repeating patterns with that program and looked forward to it becoming more perfected but it disappeared!

Some of the patterns I created using the Seamless Studio art program that was free. I enjoyed using that so much, sad it's gone!

😒😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😧😧😦😕

Soooo, I'll be uploading free patterns to my blog page and they'll all be in square format, probably will vary in pixels per inch and image size, but the two I mostly made were 12" x 12" at 300ppi for clarity but have learned for fabrics you only need 150ppi. I have a lot of 18" x 18" x 150ppi and I use those at Spoonflower.

I also just opened a 'print on demand' shop at Raspberry Creek Fabrics so I'll be uploading to that site more frequently for the time being. Gotta get established! They're out of Utah.

Visit me at Raspberry Creek Fabrics here!

Maybe this will inspire you to create designs for selling at the online fabric - products - wallpaper shops like Spoonflower and RCF, Redbubble, Zazzle and more! Open a shop! Try it!

Use my free designs and add your own ideas, embellishments and such. Let it inspire you. Be creative and enjoy! You can sell what you create even if you are sewing using your fabric patterns. Handmade is WONDERFUL!

Mentioning my name and blog or Etsy shop is wonderful too! I dearly appreciate the kindness. None of my art is for direct resale, or 'as is' which is the usual requirements in Terms of Use. Nobody likes someone else claiming artwork as their own when they didn't create it, would you?
